Instagram To Soon Let Users Share Others Profile As Stories

Instagram Stories debuted in 2016. Users can publish photos and videos that will disappear after 24 hours. This interactive tool has grown significantly in popularity since its inception and has proven a game changer for Instagram, with a daily user count of 500 million in 2019.

Now, Meta (previously Facebook’s photo and video-sharing platform) is planning to add a new feature to Stories. Instagram users may soon be able to share another user’s Instagram profile on their Stories. The upcoming feature was first spotted by a popular developer.

Instagram is working on a new feature that would allow users to post other users’ profiles on their Stories, according to noted developer Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a) on X (previously Twitter).

This feature is believed to function similarly to the current “Add to Story” option. Users can show another profile on their Instagram Story and invite their followers to visit and follow the user’s account or page.

According to Paluzzi’s screenshot, Stories will show a “View Profile” button to invite viewers to visit the mentioned profile. When it goes live, this function is expected to help individuals share profiles and increase the profile exposure and follower count of content creators and influencers. Profile invites, like photos and videos posted in Stories, are scheduled to disappear after 24 hours and will not appear on the profile grid or in the feed.

Instagram has lately introduced a number of new features. It added song lyrics display functionality for reels, giving users more possibilities for customizing Reels with their favorite songs. The platform has also introduced additional Reels editing options, including as cutting and rotating individual clips.

The Close Friends function on the Meta-owned app has also been enhanced, allowing users to publish posts and reels to their main feed that will only be viewable to persons on the list. For Instagram users in the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland, Meta is now offering a premium ad-free subscription.
