On Monday, Apple released macOS Sequoia, the stable version of the macOS 15 update, to all users. However, some users seem to have experienced some unexpected issues with the upgrade, particularly with third-party security tools.
According to a report, the operating system (OS) of the Cupertino-based company is causing network-based security software from companies like Microsoft and CrowdStrike to break down.
Businesses that rely solely on Mac computers may have been at risk from the update because the security tool makers provide enterprise-grade features. Currently, the cause of the issue is unknown.
The macOS Sequoia update has reportedly affected the performance of security tools made by companies such as Microsoft, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, and others, according to TechCrunch. The article mentioned a Mac-specific Slack channel where a lot of people voiced their complaints about the issue.
We also discovered numerous Reddit threads where users reported that after updating macOS, their security apps stopped working. Some suggested that the many bugs in the operating system could be the reason for the lack of support for the security tools.
The primary concern about this problem is that many organizations only use Mac devices, and security system problems can be extremely harmful. According to the report, despite the company’s best efforts from day one, a sales engineer for CrowdStrike stated in the previously mentioned Slack room that the security tools would not be supported. It’s unclear if there is support for the tool right now.

Security researcher Will Dormann reported on Mastodon that he had problems with DNS for several apps as well as the firewall working properly on his device. Apple has not yet released a statement indicating when these problems will be resolved.
