Mortal Engines Review: Flawlessly Executed Action-Packed Spectacle

Mortal Engines movie review: It is an exciting, action-packed adventure, flawlessly executed. Rating: 3.5/5.

Mortal Engines
Cast:
Hera Hilmar, Robert Sheehan, Hugo Weaving
Director:
Christian Rivers

Mortal Engine story starts about 1,200 years from 2018 where much of the world has come to an end. Large cities are now mobile with giant tank-like wheels. These cities survive by feeding on the resources of mobile smaller towns and villages. London is the main frame of Mortal Engines and it tries to compete with East and parts of Africa which are holding them back.

Mortal Engines continues to maintain our engagement as Hester Shaw (Hilmar) tries to kill Thaddeus, for having murdered her mother (an archaeologist called Pandora), and is stopped by Tom, who soon finds himself on the run from London along with her. Both relative strangers, Hester and Sheehan then became friends which change to love credibly. This movie is technically thrilling with excellent set pieces and futuristic space crafts designed by Dan Hennah.

Mortal Engine Review:

Mortal Engines is an interesting, action-packed and gripping drama that will keep you hooked till the last frame. I would say this movie has met with my expectations up to some extent but it’s not that good which I was expecting before watching it.

There are certain negative reviews spreading about this movie, but I would say that it depends from viewer to viewer. The fact is that when it comes to its ratings, this movie has a 5.8 out of 10 rating on Rotten Tomatoes which includes 3.8 out of 5 Audience Score along with a 91% audience liking score.

When it comes to IMDB, this movie has 6.7 out of 10 rating given by nearly 4700 IMDb Users. So it’s clear, despite all negative reviews movie lovers are enjoying it.

Whether to watch it or not:

Mortal Engines is simply the sort of movie you should watch for the acting. it’s a fun time at the movies, a strangely smart and energetic film for children.

However, I personally think if you are not a sci-fi fan then wait for the Home video release. In all honesty, I would say they do offer something new in terms of theory.
