There is enough information regarding Apple’s iPhone 16 models available today, months before the company’s typical September iPhone launch event. While the new phones are expected to include iterative upgrades, the newest leaks show no signs of a redesign or brand-new models.
However, a new leak has provided some insight into Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup, which might debut in 2025. While we’ve seen a few leaks in the past about which models are scheduled to be released, this new leak goes into greater information about each model.
Ice Universe, a tipster on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, released information regarding all of the iPhone models set to appear in 2025. With the iPhone 16 series set to ship in September of this year, the iPhone 17 models could arrive in 2025. Indeed, this allows plenty of time for the leaks to form and settle.
According to the tipster, the long-awaited improvement to the iPhone SE will still be known as the iPhone SE (4th generation), but it will have some significant changes (by Apple standards). If this leak is correct, the iPhone SE (4th generation) could be the first iPhone SE model to include an OLED panel.
Furthermore, the informant claims that this OLED panel will be the largest to be put on an iPhone SE model. Unfortunately, this display would still refresh at 60Hz only. Historically, iPhone SE models have featured small displays with compact dimensions.
While the currently available iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models have been upgraded to OLED screens (with the Dynamic Island feature), they still have the regular 60Hz refresh rate.
The iPhone 17 models are reported to have a higher (120Hz) variable refresh rate, with LTPO technology making the way for Apple’s always-on-display features, which dim the lock screen to keep it on and visible all day while consuming less power. The iPhone 17 and 17 Plus versions are expected to include 6.27-inch and 6.65-inch LTPO displays, an A19 SoC, and 8GB of RAM.

The iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to receive some iterative upgrades. While current generation devices including the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max currently have 8GB of RAM, the iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to have 12GB of RAM. The Pro variants will also include three 48-megapixel rear cameras. These versions would be powered by Apple’s A19 Pro SoC.
While the tipster did not provide any information regarding the launch timeline in the post, the attached image specifications indicate that the iPhone SE (4th generation) could be released between April and May 2025, with the rest of the models following the typical September schedule in 2025.
