WhatsApp Expands Testing for ‘Read All’ Chats Feature

A feature that allows users to mark all chats as read at once is currently being tested for WhatsApp for Android. Although it was said that this feature was being developed recently, beta testers could not access it. However, the most recent beta version of the messaging app for Android modifies things and makes it accessible to several beta testers.

Along with the option to block messages from unknown accounts, these are the most recent beta additions on the platform that are being made available to testers. Additional theming improvements are still in the process of development.

First spotted by feature tracker WABetaInfo, the in-development feature promises to improve the chat management experience on WhatsApp. LoudFact verified that the feature was functioning as expected after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.20.19. Users can label all received messages as “read” to remove them from their unread message count.

You can tap the three-dot menu to bring up the overflow menu and select Read All. You no longer have to manually choose every chat and click Mark as read by tapping Read all. This marks every communication in the list as read.

This capability should be available to all users on the stable update channel with a future version. Beta testers on Android may now access it, but iOS users may need to wait a while for the feature to become available.

It should be noted that while developers test many features in beta, not all of them make their way to the general version of the application. However, the fact that the feature is showing up on the smartphones of beta testers indicates that it will probably be made available to all users in the upcoming months.
