Motorola Showcases Bendable Phone With Flexible Display

While foldable screens are becoming more popular, Motorola is developing a more advanced concept phone display that wraps around your wrist. On Tuesday (October 24), the Lenovo subsidiary unveiled its flexible pOLED display concept phone at the annual Lenovo Tech World 2023.

The new smartphone form factor has a full-HD+ pOLED screen and can be wrapped around the wrist like a wristband. The adaptive display concept can be used in a variety of stand modes.

At Lenovo Tech World 2023, Motorola presented its revolutionary adaptive display concept. As previously stated, this new conceptual device features a full-HD+ pOLED display that can be twisted and curved to meet the needs of users.

This adaptive display design may be changed from a flat Android phone experience to being wrapped for a wrist-worn experience or positioned in various stand configurations. The device may stand on its own as a bipod, providing the user with a hands-free experience.

When laid flat, the 6.9-inch screen functions as a regular smartphone with a full Android experience. It can also be configured to a self-standing position with a 4.6-inch display. Motorola also mentions that users can wrap the device around their wrist like a smart band to experience the external display on the Motorola Razr Plus’s cover screen. However, there is no information on when this new device will be available for purchase.

Motorola teased the rollable Rizr concept earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2023). Apart from Motorola, brands such as Vivo, Transsion Holdings, and TCL are preparing to launch another rollable display form factor in 2024. Samsung is now the market leader in foldable smartphone space.

Motorola also revealed several creative AI technologies that allow consumers to personalize their phones. With this concept, users can upload or click a photo of their attire to generate a variety of AI-generated graphics that suit their personal style.

Furthermore, the company announced the creation of MotoAI, a personal assistant for both PCs and smartphones. In addition, Motorola has presented an AI concept model that improves the Doc Scanner capabilities now available on Motorola camera systems, an AI Text Summarisation tool, and a Privacy Content Obfuscation concept that uses AI to protect user information.
