Sweden’s new Health Minister, Elisabet Lann, collapsed during a live press conference in a shocking moment that was broadcast on national television.
The Christian Democrat politician had just been introduced as Sweden’s health minister when she suddenly fell forward while speaking, hitting the lectern before collapsing to the floor.

Footage from the scene shows Elisabet Lann standing alongside Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson before she suddenly lost her balance. Journalists and her colleagues rushed forward, with Deputy Prime Minister Ebba Busch seen placing her in the recovery position.
Following the incident, Lann was quickly taken out of the room, and the press conference was cancelled.
Who Is Elisabet Lann?
Elisabet Lann previously worked on an investigation team studying whether Swedish healthcare could be fully nationalized. She was recently appointed to the cabinet following the resignation of former Health Minister Acko Ankarberg Johansson.
Before her collapse, Lann stressed the importance of healthcare reform, saying:
“Swedish healthcare is of high quality; the main issue is the long waiting times. We must transition to equitable healthcare. It is clear that we must strengthen government control. It is not worthy of a welfare state that so many people are waiting for healthcare.”
