California Jewelry Store Robbery Caught on Camera

A shocking California jewelry store robbery left an elderly shop owner hospitalized after more than a dozen masked suspects stormed into his store in San Jose.

The raid happened shortly after 2 p.m. on Friday at Kim Hung Jewelry, local outlet KTVU reported. Surveillance footage shows an SUV ramming through the store’s front windows before at least a dozen hooded individuals rushed inside.

Elderly Owner Pushed to the Ground

As the chaos unfolded, the elderly shop owner tried to stop the intruders but was violently shoved to the floor. His family later confirmed he suffered a stroke and cuts from shattered glass, spending the night in the hospital before being released in stable condition.

Video footage also showed one suspect pointing a gun at an employee while another rifled through the worker’s pockets.

Suspects Flee Scene, Remain at Large

The group quickly fled when a car horn sounded outside. According to the San Jose Police Department, the suspects escaped in multiple vehicles and remain unidentified and at large.

Local Leaders Condemn the Attack

San Jose City Councillor Bien Doan strongly condemned the attack during a community event, saying: “If this was your family member, if this was your business that you spent your whole lifetime to build up, and then within one hour you’re out of business.”

He added, “We no longer accept the norm. We ask for change.”

Broad-Daylight Heist Sparks Concern

The violent robbery highlights growing concerns over organized retail crime in California. The attack has been described as a broad-daylight heist that left a community shaken and a family devastated.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
