What is Basal Cell Carcinoma?

According to the Mayo Clinic, basal cell carcinoma is a common type of skin cancer that starts in basal cells, which are found in the skin’s lower layer. It typically develops on sun-exposed areas like the face, head, and neck.

The main cause is prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. Fortunately, this form of skin cancer is highly treatable when detected early and completely removed.
