Trump Alleges Ilhan Omar Married Brother to Enter US

US President Donald Trump launched a fresh attack on Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar on Friday, calling her “the worst Congresswoman” in American history. In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed Omar “married her brother” to enter the United States — an allegation that has circulated for years but remains unproven.

He further described Somalia, Omar’s birthplace, as a “decadent, backward, and crime-ridden nation.”

Trump wrote: “Ilhan Omar, always wrapped in her swaddling hijab, and who probably came into the USA illegally in that you are not allowed to marry your brother, does nothing but hatefully complain about our country, its Constitution, and how badly she is treated.”

No Evidence Supports the Claim

The claim that Ilhan Omar married her brother for immigration purposes has been repeatedly shared online but has never been substantiated. Omar has previously denied the rumor, calling it a politically motivated smear intended to discredit her.

Trump’s Long-Running Feud With Ilhan Omar

This is not the first time Trump has publicly targeted Omar. In September, he made similar accusations, writing on Truth Social: “Ilhan Omar’s Country of Somalia is plagued by a lack of central Government control, persistent Poverty, Hunger, Resurgent Terrorism, Piracy, decades of Civil War, Corruption, and pervasive Violence.”

He added: “Wasn’t she the one that married her brother in order to gain Citizenship??? What SCUM we have in our Country…”

The conflict escalated again after Omar criticized conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Trump questioned whether she should remain on congressional committees, saying: “I think she’s a disgraceful person. A loser… I think she’s a disgusting person.”

Push to Remove Omar From Committees

Following these remarks, Representative Buddy Carter of Georgia introduced a resolution to remove Omar from the House Budget Committee and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, where she serves as the top Democrat on the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections.

The renewed feud highlights Trump’s ongoing political battles and the deep partisan divide surrounding Omar, one of Congress’s most high-profile progressive lawmakers.
