Police in Clinton Township, Michigan, are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening at a movie theatre connected to the popular Mall at Partridge Creek. The incident took place at the MJR Partridge Creek Cinema, located on the 17000 block of Hall Road, according to officials.

One Person Shot; Suspect Still at Large

A source familiar with the situation told CBS News Detroit that at least one person was struck by gunfire, though the severity of the injuries remains unknown. Authorities have confirmed that the shooter has not yet been apprehended, prompting an active and ongoing investigation.

Shooting Disrupts Tree-Lighting Event

The mall had been hosting its annual tree-lighting celebration, scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. Families, shoppers, and visitors gathered for the holiday event when the shooting unfolded nearby, causing confusion and concern throughout the area.

Police have not yet released additional details about a motive or the circumstances leading up to the incident.
