Disney Announces Return of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

Disney and ABC have announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live, hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel, will return to air on Tuesday after a temporary suspension.

In a statement, the company explained:

“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

Suspension Followed Controversial Remarks

The show was pulled off the air last Wednesday after Kimmel’s remarks regarding the alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk triggered public outrage and a veiled warning from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Disney temporarily suspended the show after two major affiliate owners pulled airings, and Kimmel reportedly refused to apologize for his comments.

The remarks sparked debate across political lines: liberals expressed outrage, while some conservatives criticized Kimmel for suggesting the suspected killer was affiliated with MAGA.

Public Protests Demand Return

The suspension prompted significant public reaction. Hundreds of protesters gathered outside Disney’s location in Burbank, California, demanding that Jimmy Kimmel Live! return to the air. Demonstrators also gathered outside Kimmel’s studio on Hollywood Boulevard, chanting:

“ABC bent the knee! No to the FCC!”

The Controversy That Started It All

The situation began last Monday when Kimmel accused conservatives of reaching “new lows” in trying to associate a left-wing ideology with 22-year-old suspected Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson. The remarks ignited widespread debate and ultimately led to the show’s temporary suspension.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! Back on Air

With Disney and ABC confirming the return, fans of Jimmy Kimmel can expect the late-night show to resume this Tuesday, signaling the end of a brief but highly publicized controversy in late-night television.
