The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 were released in July of this year. The phones are powered by custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoCs and have an IPX8 dust and water-resistant rating. In addition to the varieties that were first released, the South Korean tech giant earlier announced the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in a new color option.
Additionally, the company unveiled a Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro Edition model as a tribute to the Samsung E700. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Maison Margiela Edition is the company’s second partnership with the French luxury fashion business, following the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Samsung has announced that the Maison Margiela Edition of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be available in select markets. The handset, which comes with 512GB of storage, will be available through a lottery on the official Samsung website for KRW 2,497,000.
To enter the lottery, interested people can apply on the Samsung website from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time on November 30. The winners will be announced on December 1 at 9 a.m. local time.
Starting November 23, the model will be on display at Samsung Gangnam and Samsung Hongdae outlets in South Korea. Buyers in China, Hong Kong, and South Korea will be able to purchase a limited amount of this Maison Margiela edition of the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
The Maison Margiela variant of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 claims to be inspired by the fashion world’s deconstructive yet sophisticated design approach. The phone is packaged in a large box that resembles the archival storage containers used in atelier stores to keep various fabric samples and threads.

Maison Margiela’s distinctive jacket is featured on the rear of the box, which is covered in a woven book cloth fabric. It includes two cases: a Flap Leather Case and a Flipsuit Case.
This clamshell foldable model also has two exclusive wallpapers: Stitches and Trompe-L’oeil. The Stitches wallpaper includes handwoven stitches on the cover and inner screens, and the Trompe-L’oeil wallpaper depicts the inner workings of a garment. The three-tiered packaging box also includes a 25W charger and a USB Type-C to USB Type-C connection.
