Why do people fear accepting being single? Some people love being in a relationship while others enjoy being single. No matter what your situation is, there are always pros and cons because we live in a society that respects relationships and marriage.

There has been a major debate over single life and relationship for years but in my point of view, it’s the individual’s choice. If somebody wants to live single for the rest of their life then it’s their right to do so, and we should appreciate them for doing that.

Accepting Being Single

Most people often consider the “single” term as alone and lonely but that’s not true at all. Many people consider single women lonely and depressed but that completely depends on the person, not on the relationship status.

I often ask my clients, what’s so bad on accepting being single? Some consider that the person may universally suffer because of singlehood while others state this relationship status creates fear and social anxiety.

But you have to admit that it’s a state of life, it will not be there forever. Accepting being single not only helps you overcome the fear but also opens a new dimension of living life.

I reached out to some of the married and single men and ladies to provide their input on this topic and their responses were quite enlightening. So after analyzing all the facts, here are all the pros and cons of being single from my point of view.

Being Single Pros And Cons

1. Time

Being Single Pros And Cons

Pros:

When you are single, you have enough time to spend on your hobbies, passion, etc. Your time is now completely yours. You can play games, go to late-night clubs or even start a new hobby to fill your extra time. When it comes to time in a single life, you have far more amount of time to spend you.

Cons:

On the other hand, if you are single and you have enough free time, you will start doing things that might hurt your future like drinking habits to watching porn. And in most cases, it’s considered a bad thing. But if you are in a relationship, there is someone with you who will guide you through your bad habits.

Conclusion:

It’s better to have someone around than to be single to spend time with. But if you can guide yourself correctly then you will gain more in accepting being single.

2. Freedom

Being Single Pros And Cons

Pros:

Many think, in a relationship, they lose their freedom but that’s not true for every single person. If facts are to be believed the ratio is 60 percent people vs 40 percent people. But if you are single, you have complete freedom in your lifestyle and you can do whatever you want, from wearing anything to partying late at night.

Cons:

In a relationship you always consider your partner first, that’s the way you show them your love and affection. It’s not a bad thing but some people prefer to be alone to gain full control over their freedom.

Conclusion:

I think there is no con in the case of freedom for single people and if you have the perfect partner who understands you then the same also can be achieved while living in a relationship.

3. Money

Being Single Pros And Cons

Pros:

If you are the type of person who hesitates to spend their hard-earned money on anyone else except you then staying single is a perfect thing you can do.

After asking this question to some people who are already in a relationship, they prefer to spend their money on their partner. So obviously if you want to save an extra bit of money then you can achieve that by staying single.

Cons:

I asked certain couples about the value of money in a relationship and you will definitely be surprised by their answer. As they said and I quote: “Money only gives timely satisfaction while spending only for you, but if you spend it on your loved ones you will gain true happiness”.

Conclusion:

You will definitely save money but after a certain period, you will get bored and lonely.

4. Stress

Being Single Pros And Cons

Pros:

When you are single, you only have your own problems. It means you will have fewer problems which results in stress-free life than those persons who are in a relationship. So it’s a strong factor to consider living alone.

Cons:

With more amount of problems, you will also get support from another person in a relationship, who will help you in solving all shots of the problem, whether it’s individual problem or a family problem.

Being single, you may overcome financial and mental stress but when it comes to physical stress you will definitely feel alone. With no sexual interaction, you will search through alternatives to satisfy yourself and as a result, you will harm your body. Even studies have proven that those who have a healthier sex life, live much happier than others.

Conclusion:

Definitely, you will have less stress and absolutely no family stress at all if you live alone but you will feel lonely and uncompleted in your life.
