Maria Machado Dedicates Nobel Peace Prize to Trump

Maria Corina Machado, Venezuelan pro-democracy activist and 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner, dedicated her award to the people of Venezuela and US President Donald Trump. She emphasized the importance of international support for Venezuela’s democratic movement.

In her statement, Machado said: “This recognition of the struggle of all Venezuelans is a boost to conclude our task: to conquer Freedom.”

She added: “We are on the threshold of victory and today, more than ever, we count on President Trump, the people of the United States, the peoples of Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our principal allies to achieve Freedom and democracy. I dedicate this prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause!”

Maria Machado is a Venezuelan opposition leader and human rights activist who has tirelessly fought for democratic rights in Venezuela. She has been recognized internationally for her work leading the country toward a transition from dictatorship to democracy.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee praised her efforts, stating: “The Nobel Peace Prize for 2025 goes to a brave and committed champion of peace – to a woman who keeps the flame of democracy burning amid a growing darkness.”
