Alina Habba Attack: Suspect Flees After NJ Office Break-In

The office of Acting US Attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba was attacked on Wednesday night, with property damaged during the incident, Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed on Thursday.

Suspect Tried to Confront Habba Before Escaping

According to Bondi, the suspect tried to confront Habba before running away.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Bondi wrote:

“Last night, an individual attempted to confront one of our US Attorneys — my dear friend @USAttyHabba — destroyed property in her office, and then fled the scene. Thankfully, Alina is ok. Any violence or threats of violence against any federal officer will not be tolerated. Period. This is unfortunately becoming a trend as radicals continue to attack law enforcement agents around the country.”

Bondi added that authorities are working to identify and charge the person involved.

Authorities Vow to Bring Attacker to Justice

Bondi stressed that prosecutors and law-enforcement professionals risk their lives daily, stating:

“Our federal prosecutors, agents, and law-enforcement partners put their lives on the line every day to protect the American people, and this Department will use every legal tool available to ensure their safety and hold violent offenders fully accountable.”
