If you have heard mixed reactions about this submarine movie and looking for some in-depth Hunter Killer Review then this is the place for you. Hunter Killer is an attack submarine, the USS Arkansas, commanded by Joe Glass (Gerard Butler). Joe’s initial mission along with his crew is to investigate the disappearance of another American submarine near Russian waters.

From here the story branches out in several directions, underwater action with a Russian military, with Joe forced to make some tough decisions in the hope of preventing global disaster. The ordinary alliances are suddenly upended and the United States Navy must do everything it can to protect the interests of the Russian president.

Sent to find an American sub in Russian waters, Joe Glass (Gerard Butler), quickly realizes that this was no ordinary sinking. Above ground, the Russian defense minister is staging a move by taking the Russian president (Alexander Diachenko) into custody. His next plan is driving the United States into war.

Review:

There are a lot of negative and mixed reviews spreading about this movie, but the fact is that when it comes to its ratings, this movie has a 4.9 out of 10 rating on Rotten Tomatoes. What is contradictory that this movie has 4.2 out of 5 Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes and 85% audience liked it.

When it comes to IMDB, this movie has 7 out of 10 rating, so its pretty clear that despite many negative reviews, people are enjoying this movie.

In my opinion, the negative reviews are because of the storyline presentation. I must say that the story was not presented well as it should be. Along with that, VFX used in this movie isn’t that promising.

Whether to watch it or not:

I personally don’t like Donovan Marsh’s direction for this movie along with the story presentation. But despite all these facts, I will suggest watching this movie at least once. If you could wait for its home release then you can skip watching it on a big screen.

Rating:

Although this movie has some poor factors, it delivers some of the best action, drama, and thrill moments. That adds this movie to a must watch list.
