There are a lot of website speed test tools available on the web but what’s their necessity is the most important question to ask. Site speed is a significant factor in Google’s algorithm, websites with fast-loading speed can expect rank higher in results. This will ultimately attract more visitors. If facts to be believed, websites having faster loading speed is the most important factor from a users point of view.

While most of the speed test tools available offer various advance functionalities, selecting best among them is a bit confusing. According to experts targeting your website speed around two seconds is a good enough to rank higher.

While there are many factors to consider, we recommend to first check the following factors,

  • Page load time
  • Page size
  • Number of requests made to load the page
  • PageSpeed Score
  • Waterfall chart
  • YSlow score

When it comes to website speed testing tools, the key thing is to select one and stick with it. The main reason behind this that different tools provide analysis to others. So if you are planning to use multiple then I will suggest going for one at a time.

Here are top 3-speed test tools that I think is best among all others.

1. Google PageSpeed Insights

Google PageSpeed Insights is Google’s own speed testing tool which measures the performance of a webpage for desktop devices and mobile devices for free.

Google released their mobile website speed testing tool powered by PageSpeed Insights which is aimed more toward marketers and agencies to better deliver optimization reports. It also supports report sending right to your email or forward it to your developer.

Remember that a 100/100 score might not even be possible in all scenarios, as nowadays dozen of external scripts are implementing to websites. So try to maintain a healthy score above 80 which is perfect and easy to achieve.
