The Google Pixel 8a is expected to be unveiled next month at the company’s annual Google I/O 2024 event, and details about the smartphone have leaked many times in recent weeks.
The reported Pixel 8a price has also been leaked online, and it appears that users will have to pay slightly more this year to purchase Google’s most affordable Pixel 8-series smartphone. The successor to last year’s Pixel 7a is expected to include some AI (artificial intelligence) features.
According to PassionateGeekz, the Pixel 8a will cost CAD 708.99 for the 128GB storage version, and CAD 792.99 for the 256GB storage configuration. The publication did not name the Canadian vendor who listed both Pixel 8a models.
Google is likely to equip the Pixel 8a with its Tensor G3 CPU, which drives the Pixel 8 series of smartphones and supports AI models on the device.
However, it is presently unknown whether the Pixel 8a would offer the same compatibility with the more costly Pixel 8a modes. It could include a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is likely to have 5G and 4G LTE connectivity, similar to last year’s model.
