Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone may be officially revealed next week, according to newly surfaced reports. An alleged image of the Samsung Tri-Fold Smartphone, possibly referred to as the Galaxy G Fold, was spotted by a tech publication, offering an early glimpse at what could be the company’s most ambitious foldable device yet.
The new device is expected to launch nearly a year after Huawei introduced the Mate X Ultimate Design; however, unlike Huawei’s S-shaped folding approach, Samsung’s tri-fold phone is rumored to adopt a G-shaped fold, with both outer panels folding inward.
Samsung Tri-Fold Smartphone Leak Reveals Design, Display, and Cameras

According to Android Authority and AssembleDebug, animations found in the latest One UI 8 beta suggest that the Samsung Tri-Fold Smartphone will feature three display panels connected by two hinges. One animation reveals a noticeably wider design than the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, hinting at a much larger unfolded display area.
A lighter, more detailed animation suggests that:
- One of the outer panels will house a vertically aligned triple-camera module.
- The middle panel will likely serve as the cover display, featuring a centered hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera.
- The third outer panel appears minimal, with no visible sensors or hardware components shown.
Another camera is reportedly located on the right panel of the inner screen, which may be used for selfies or video calls when the device is fully unfolded.
Codename “Multifold 7” and Unique Folding Mechanism
Some of the animation files refer to the device as the “Multifold 7”, which could be Samsung’s internal codename for this tri-fold concept. The unique G-shaped folding mechanism differs from Huawei’s design and supports a cover display on the exterior. However, the leaks warn that users may need to carefully fold the device to avoid damaging the panel with the protruding camera bump.
Unveiling Expected at Galaxy Unpacked on July 9
Samsung is expected to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, where it will likely unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Watch 8 series. While the Samsung Tri-Fold Smartphone has not been officially confirmed, the company has previously teased upcoming devices like the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy S25 Edge before full announcements, suggesting a potential early reveal is possible.
Until Samsung confirms its plans, all leaks should be taken with caution. Still, if the reports are accurate, we could see the Samsung Tri-Fold Smartphone teased next week and officially launched later this year.
