Apple Releases iOS 17.1 With New AirDrop, StandBy And More

Apple released iOS 17.1, the most recent version of its iPhone operating system. When you are out of AirDrop range, the update adds functionality for massive AirDrop file transfers via the Internet. Additionally, it improves the StandBy feature and Apple Music.

Additionally, it also includes several bug fixes. iOS 17.1 will be available for iPhone Xs and subsequent models, including the iPhone Xs Max, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11 series. Besides iOS 17.1, Apple has also launched iPadOS 17.1 and watchOS 10.1 to all supported devices.

Last month, iOS 17 was released to the recently debuted iPhone 15 series, as well as a few selected older iPhone models. Apple has now officially launched iOS 17.1 for eligible iPhone devices, as well as iPadOS 17.1 and watchOS 10.1.

The most recent update includes new features, improvements, and bug fixes. When the update is available, a notification icon will appear in the Settings app. iPhone users can manually check for updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1 enable the option to continue AirDrop transfers over the Internet if the two linked devices move out of the Wi-Fi range after the sharing process has started. The Apple Music app now offers options for favorite songs, albums, and playlists, and users may filter the library to view their favorites.

Similarly, the update includes a new cover art collection with designs that change colors to match the music in the playlist. Song suggestions will also be displayed at the bottom of each playlist in iOS 17.1. The most recent iPad update adds compatibility for the new Apple Pencil (USB-C).
