WhatsApp Begins Testing Sticker Pack Sharing Feature

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will allow users to add a message when sending content over the messaging network.

WhatsApp has recently begun sending out a new feature to beta testers that allows them to share a sticker pack installed on their device. A month after it was discovered, users who have downloaded the most recent beta versions of WhatsApp for iOS and Android will be able to select a sticker pack and share it with another WhatsApp user, allowing them to install the same pack on their phone. Meanwhile, WhatsApp has started allowing some testers to add a message while forwarding content on the messaging platform.

After updating to WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.25.2 (or newer) and WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.24.10.72 through the Google Play beta program and TestFlight, testers will be able to use a new feature added to the messaging app’s sticker section. These changes were discovered by the feature tracker WABetaInfo.

Beta users will now notice a new three-dot button while navigating through sticker packs loaded on WhatsApp. Tapping this button brings up two options: Send and Remove. If a user chooses to share a sticker pack, WhatsApp will generate a link to that sticker pack, and users can select a recipient before clicking the send button.

At the moment, it appears that the option to share complete sticker packs is limited to those within WhatsApp. The feature tracker released screenshots of WhatsApp’s iOS and Android sharing functionality, as well as the built-in ‘Cuppy’ sticker pack.

Another feature being rolled out to WhatsApp beta testers on Android 2.24.25.3 is the option to add a message while forwarding content. A screenshot shared by the feature tracker illustrates how a new message box appears after users choose contacts and forward media on the app.

LoudFact was unable to test both of these features on the specified versions of WhatsApp beta for Android, as well as subsequent testing versions released by the company, such as the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.25.12 beta build, which was made available to testers recently. This shows that the features are being added gradually.
