The Dollar Lake Fire burning in Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest has surged to 9,891 acres with 0% containment, according to fire officials. Crews are ramping up efforts to control the blaze, focusing on fireline construction and structure protection as challenging weather conditions threaten to fuel its growth.

Firefighting Operations Expand Into Five Divisions

To better coordinate suppression efforts, the incident command has expanded fire operations from two divisions to five.

  • On the north flank, crews and heavy machinery are working to strengthen containment lines along Green River Lakes Road.
  • On the south side, bulldozers are cutting firelines, while hand crews scout the southeastern edge for natural barriers to slow the fire’s advance.

Gusty Winds, Minimal Rain Increase Fire Risk

The fire remains highly unpredictable, with incoming storm systems expected to bring strong outflow winds later today. While some monsoonal moisture is forecast for Sunday, officials warn that chances of significant rainfall remain low, increasing the likelihood of intensified fire behavior.

Large Closure Order Issued for Public Safety

The Bridger-Teton National Forest has issued an extensive closure order for the impacted area to keep the public safe. The closure zone includes:

  • Land east and south of the Green River, starting at its junction with Union Pass Road (FS600).
  • The shoreline of Green River Lake up to the Bridger Wilderness boundary.
  • South Fork of Gypsum Creek southwest to State Highway 352, ending where pavement transitions to dirt.
  • The east side of FS600 north to its Union Pass Road junction.

Officials are urging residents and visitors to avoid the fire zone until further notice.

Firefighting Resources Continue to Arrive

Additional firefighting resources and personnel are arriving daily to support containment efforts. The primary objectives remain protecting lives, property, and critical infrastructure.
