Telegram is developing a visionOS app that will allow users to access the messaging service on the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset next year, and the app’s founder has unveiled how the app will look on Apple’s first spatial computer.
Users will be able to access their chats through a translucent interface and dictate or enter messages using a virtual keyboard. The application will also be able to display media such as videos in an immersive view.
Telegram Founder Pavel Durov demonstrated the first concept of the app on visionOS in a video broadcast to his channel on Tuesday. While Apple demonstrated a few apps running on the Apple Vision Pro during its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2023), this is one of the first detailed examples of an app running on Apple’s forthcoming mixed reality operating system.
Durov’s video begins with the visionOS app list, displaying the Telegram icon, which is highlighted with an animation when clicked — this is expected to be typical behavior for apps on visionOS when it is released to users next year.
Telegram for visionOS is shown in the app demo with a left-aligned list of chats, and picking a window opens it on the right. You may send messages using Siri or the visionOS default virtual keyboard.
The example shows three-dimensional animated stickers and emoji reactions, but it’s unclear whether these animations will be included in the final version because they appear to take up the majority of the display.
Taping on a video will open it in an immersive view that dims the rest of the UI while the media is playing. The app also allows you to view stories, which are accessible in the top left corner of the screen.

Meanwhile, the example displays small icons for the profile and calls sections, but they are not visible in the video.
