WWE legend Hulk Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, is being honored in Florida with a special day of recognition. Governor Ron DeSantis announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that August 1 will officially be Hulk Hogan Day in the state.
“In honor of a great Floridian, Hulk Hogan, we are lowering the flags at the Capitol and in Pinellas County tomorrow,” DeSantis said. “Rest in peace, brother,” he added. “He was a true Floridian through and through.”

Hogan, who spent much of his life in Clearwater, Florida, passed away at the age of 71 from a heart attack on July 24.

Medical Examiner: Cause of Death Was “Natural”
According to a police report, Hogan died less than 90 minutes after medics arrived at his Clearwater home on the morning of July 24 in response to a cardiac arrest call. While the primary cause of death was a heart attack, the medical examiner noted he had also been suffering from leukemia and atrial fibrillation, a serious heart rhythm disorder.

His wife, Sky Daily, posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, saying:
“He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them.”
