Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 17 during its Awe Dropping event at Apple Park. CEO Tim Cook introduced the latest base model in the company’s flagship lineup, confirming that it comes powered by the new A19 chipset and runs on iOS 26 out of the box.

Apple has priced the iPhone 17 starting at $799 for the 256GB base variant, with a 512GB model also available. Customers can choose from five colors: Lavender, Mist Blue, Sage, White, and Black.
Pre-orders for the iPhone 17 begin on September 12, with global deliveries starting on September 19.
Display and Design Upgrades
The iPhone 17 features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with ProMotion technology for up to a 120Hz refresh rate, a feature previously limited to Pro models. With 3,000 nits peak brightness, Ceramic Shield 2 protection, and always-on display support, this marks a big step forward for non-Pro iPhones.
The handset also comes with an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, making it more durable for everyday use.
Powerful A19 Chip and AI Integration
At its core, the iPhone 17 is powered by the A19 chipset featuring a 16-core Neural Engine. Apple claims it delivers 40% faster CPU performance compared to the iPhone 16 while improving memory bandwidth and AI efficiency.

The iPhone 17 introduces a dual rear camera system:

Apple claims the iPhone 17 delivers up to eight hours more battery life compared to its predecessor. It supports fast charging, reaching 50% charge in minutes, while a 10-minute top-up can provide up to 8 hours of use.
