Posts circulating online falsely claimed the university had gone into lockdown due to an “active shooter” situation.
However, officials confirmed that no shelter-in-place order was issued and the claims about a campus lockdown were inaccurate.

University of Arizona: Video Not Filmed on Campus
The University of Arizona told local NBC affiliate KVOA that they are aware of the video but confirmed the footage “is not on campus.” University officials emphasized that there is no threat to students, staff or campus operations, and all activities are continuing normally.
Police: Incident Happened Off-Campus, Not UA-Related
The University of Arizona Police Department (UAPD) clarified that the situation seen in the video is being handled by the Tucson Police Department and has no connection to the university.
UAPD stressed that while the clip caused confusion online, the incident did not occur on university property and did not pose any danger to the campus community.
