A fire broke out Thursday at a commercial building on South Broadway in Littleton, sending heavy smoke into the air and prompting evacuations. South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) and the Littleton Police Department responded quickly after reports of smoke in the area.

Fire Contained, No Injuries Reported
Crews initially reported flames on the roof of a strip mall business, but later confirmed the fire was contained to a dumpster behind the store. Officials said there was no fire extension to the roof.
No injuries were reported. Multiple businesses were evacuated during the response and will remain temporarily closed while the site is secured and investigated.
ARC Thrift Store Donations Burned
The fire involved a large quantity of household donations to the ARC Thrift Store, creating a thick smoke plume visible across the area.
Investigation Into Cause Underway
The cause of the Littleton Colorado fire has not yet been determined. Investigators from the SMFR Marshal’s Office remain on scene to examine the source of the blaze.
Officials are asking the public to avoid South Broadway near the fire site until operations are fully complete.
