Samsung Reveals List Of Smartphones To Get Android 14 Update

Samsung has revealed a list of handsets that will get an Android 14 update in the coming months. The latest One UI 6 interface, which is based on the latest version of Google’s Android operating system, will be available to select Galaxy S, Z, and A series handsets.

For newer smartphone models, Samsung provides up to four years of OS updates and five years of security patch updates. The list of smartphones that will receive the Android 14 update is expected to grow in the coming weeks.

On Monday, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer announced the public rollout of its One UI 6 update and outlined some of the new camera-related features that will be available on updated smartphones, effectively confirming that these devices will receive the update. The Galaxy S23 series, the company’s flagship handsets for 2023, will be the first to receive the update, according to Samsung.

Along with the Galaxy S23 series, prior handsets such as the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series will receive the Android 14 update with Samsung’s One UI 6 on top. The Galaxy S20 range, which will be released in 2020, will be the last S-series model to receive the update, with the Galaxy S10 series receiving its final Android OS update last year.

Samsung has also specified which Galaxy Z-series devices will be eligible for the Android 14 update. The Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Z Flip 5G are all part of it. According to Samsung’s list, the Galaxy Z Fold, which was released in 2019, would continue to run Android 13-based One UI 5.

Samsung will update its Galaxy Note 20 series — the last Note-branded smartphones — to Android 14 in addition to its flagship and foldable phones. According to Samsung, the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A53 will also receive the latest One UI 6 upgrade.

It’s worth noting that a number of recently released smartphones, including Samsung’s Galaxy M and Galaxy F series, aren’t on the list of devices that are scheduled to receive the Android 14 update. This implies that the list of phones that will be updated to Android 14 will grow at a later date based on the regions where these handsets are available.
