Richmond Mass Shooting: 1 Dead, 3 Juveniles Injured at Georgia Auto Parts Store

A tragic mass shooting on August 3 in Richmond County, Georgia left one juvenile dead and three others injured, including one in critical condition. The violent incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. in the parking lot of an Advance Auto Parts store near Meadowbrook Drive and Deans Bridge Road, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Juvenile Victims Found with Gunshot Wounds

Law enforcement arrived at the scene to find four juveniles suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

“Three of the victims were transported to area hospitals and one of the victims was found to have succumbed to his injuries,” the sheriff’s office confirmed.

“Out of the three juveniles transported to area hospitals, one of the victims was listed in critical condition and the other two were listed as stable.”

The Richmond County Coroner was called to the scene shortly after.

Crime Scene Spanned Large Area, Multiple Units Called In

Authorities described the crime scene as extensive, prompting the deployment of additional resources. Specialized units including the Crime Suppression Team, K9 units, and S.W.A.T. were dispatched to assist with the investigation.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team is also aiding the search for suspects across the Meadowbrook neighborhood.

Investigation Ongoing; No Arrests Announced Yet

As of now, no suspects have been publicly identified. Law enforcement continues to interview witnesses and gather evidence.

“Investigators are still currently on scene and interviewing individuals at this time. This incident is still in its early stages of investigation and no further information will be released at this time,” the sheriff’s office stated.

“When more information becomes available it will be released as soon as possible.”

The shooting has sparked community outrage and grief, especially as all four victims were juveniles.

Many local residents and social media users have demanded action against youth gun violence, while others offered prayers and support to the victims’ families. One resident called the incident “heartbreaking”, urging authorities to hold those responsible accountable.
