Nothing Phone 1 Gets Nothing OS 2.0.4 Update

Nothing Phone 1 was released with Nothing OS 1.0, which was based on Android 12.

Nothing has begun globally rolling out a new software update for its Nothing Phone 1. Nothing OS 2.0.4 offers a new photo widget while also redesigning numerous components of the interface. The update also includes an app drawer for hiding and organizing unwanted apps.

Nothing, led by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, is also addressing certain known bug fixes with its current release, such as the issue that causes lock screen widgets to not be displayed properly after restarting, as well as resolving other vulnerabilities.

On October 17, the UK brand announced the rollout of Nothing OS 2.0.4 for the Nothing Phone 1. The latest firmware update includes new features, upgrades, bug fixes, and performance improvements. The update is 6.06MB in size. Nothing Phone 1 users can check for updates by going to Settings > System > System Update.

The most recent build includes a hidden apps drawer for accessing apps that have been relocated and hidden from the app drawer. Swiping to the left side of the app drawer will bring you there. Nothing OS 2.0.4 also includes a Photo widget. Users will be able to display their preferred photos on the home or lock screen.

When you upgrade to Nothing OS 2.0.4, the charging tooltip in the lock screen will appropriately reflect the charging speed. Nothing resolved issues that caused lock screen widgets to be displayed incorrectly after restarting in the latest build.

Further, with the update, the cloned WhatsApp instance now properly supports the App Locker. Additionally, the firmware upgrade improves the stability of Wi-Fi hot-spotting while also providing bug fixes for the company’s first smartphone.

While the Nothing Phone 1 was released in July of last year with Nothing OS 1.0 based on Android 12, the company updated the phone with Nothing OS 1.5.4 in May. It has since received a couple more updates, the most recent of which added a new home screen and app control tools.
