The mall, located at 2760 N Germantown Pkwy, was placed under immediate lockdown as multiple agencies rushed to secure the area.
Witnesses Report Gunfire and Swift Lockdown
Police arrived shortly after 2 PM, with witnesses noting a large emergency response involving at least two dozen officers. According to FOX13, six Tennessee Highway Patrol and Memphis Police vehicles blocked the mall entrance as officers moved inside.
A witness described the experience on Facebook, saying: “Just now, while visiting Wolfchase Galleria with my sister and baby niece, we heard what sounded like gunshots immediately after getting off the elevator. The mall went into an immediate lockdown, and all stores secured their entrances. We were able to exit safely, and law enforcement is currently on scene responding to the situation. Please avoid the area until authorities give the all-clear.”
