A police officer was shot Monday afternoon in the Tradition neighborhood of Port St. Lucie, Florida, triggering a large emergency response throughout the area. According to officials, the officer was injured after being shot at the planned community on the west side of Port St. Lucie.
He was transported to HCA Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce following the incident.

Heavy Police Presence Floods Town Park Community
Videos from the scene show a massive police response surrounding the Town Park Community of Tradition. Numerous patrol cars, emergency vehicles, and tactical units arrived as authorities secured the neighborhood.
A spokesperson for St. Lucie County Fire Rescue said crews were dispatched Monday night after reports of a shooting involving a police officer.
