Adobe Express Mobile App With Firefly AI is Now Available Globally

The Adobe Express mobile app with Firefly AI is now accessible to all users internationally. The company first announced its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered photo and video editing smartphone platform in March.

At the time, the company published the application in beta mode, allowing customers to try out the features. After more than a month in beta, it is now freely available to all Android and iOS users. The app does include a premium tier for individuals who want to access unique features.

Adobe announced the change via a newsroom post. Govind Balakrishnan, senior vice president, Adobe Express and Digital Media Services, stated at the app’s launch, “Adobe Express brings the magic of Firefly generative AI directly into web and mobile content creation experiences.” Adobe Express is designed for businesses and digital content makers who post to TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, and other social media sites.

Notably, Adobe Express is not something new for the company. It has been testing a cloud-based mobile content creation platform since 2015. The new app now supports Adobe’s in-house Firefly AI capabilities for Android and iOS platforms.

Users will also be able to co-edit, review, and comment on the app, allowing for a more collaborative experience. Users on mobile and desktop devices will be able to collaborate on the same project, introducing cross-platform collaboration as well.

The AI-powered app will provide users with a variety of video-focused features. Users can put together video clips, images, and music to make a single video. There are possibilities for adding animations, real-time and configurable captions in over 100 languages, a video timeline, layer timing, and much more. Additionally, the software supports 4K videos.

On the image front, users can generate photos with the Firefly text-to-image generator and utilise Generative Fill to add, remove, or replace people, objects, and other elements with simple text prompts.

Furthermore, the app lets users create customisable templates with text prompts. To ensure that content created and altered using its AI tools is safe for commercial use, Firefly AI follows to the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) principles, an open-source solution for labelling AI-generated content.

Some features will not be available to users who download the free version of the app. Adobe has established a premium tier, with monthly memberships. The membership will provide access to Firefly AI-specific capabilities including resize and erase, premium templates, licensed Adobe fonts, 100GB of cloud storage, and Adobe Photoshop Express. Currently, the company is offering a two-week free trial of the subscription.
