First, soak your rice for about half an hour. Wash it after to improve the texture and get rid of inorganic arsenic that your rice may contain. To wash your rice, put the rice you need to cook in a pot first. Then take enough water to cover the rice.

Then swirl the rice using your fingers. After you are done with this, drain off the water. Repeat this process twice or thrice to get fresh rice ready to cook. It may take you up to 5 to 10 minutes.

Now, pour some water on the rice. Remember, the water-rice ratio completely depends on the type of rice you are cooking. Nevertheless, we can advise you that if you initially took 2 cups of rice, you can add 2 cups of water to it.

You can add a bit of salt to make your rice tastier. For 1 cup of rice, you can add up to 1 tablespoon of salt. Now, place the rice-containing pot on the top of the stove. Use medium heat and let the rice get heated and boiled. In the meantime, you have to stir the rice several times.

When you are done boiling your rice, it’s time to turn the heat to its lowest. Take the lid and cover the pot now. Keep in mind that if you do not use low heat, you may end up burning the rice.
