According to reports, the shooting is linked to drug gang activity, resulting in two fatalities and several injuries, including two individuals in critical condition.

Eric Ciotti Responds to Shooting
Eric Ciotti condemned the violence, saying: “I refuse to accept that this neighbourhood, like our city, should become a lawless zone. I thank the many police officers and firefighters mobilized on the spot.”
Police and Prefecture Actions
The Alpes-Maritimes prefecture reported that the shooting left two dead and five injured on Friday.
“Laurent HOTTIAUX, Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, is on site and strongly condemns this heinous act. On the decision of the Minister of the Interior, reinforcements will be mobilized starting tomorrow to ensure a return to security in the neighborhood and will remain as long as necessary,” the prefecture wrote on X.
Authorities confirmed that officers and firefighters were rapidly deployed to the scene to assist victims and secure the area.
Mayor Confirms Gang-Related Incident
Mayor Christian Estrosi stated that the attack involved a Kalashnikov and was linked to a gang incursion associated with narco-banditry in the Les Moulins neighborhood. He emphasized that the city is taking measures to prevent further violence.
