Tucson Fire Forces Evacuation at Udall Park

A Tucson fire erupted near Udall Park, leading authorities to evacuate part of the park for safety. Sabino Canyon Road has also been closed from Kolb to Tanque Verde to protect residents and visitors in the area.

Fire Department Responds

The Tucson Fire Department confirmed the situation on X:

“Tucson Fire is on the scene of a landfill fire near Udall Park. Due to the location we are treating it as a possible hazmat situation. There is heavy smoke in the area and part of the park has been evacuated. Sabino Canyon Road is closed from Kolb to Tanque Verde. Please avoid the area.”

Fire crews are actively working to contain the landfill fire, while monitoring for any hazardous materials that could pose additional risks.

Authorities urge the public to avoid the affected area due to heavy smoke and potential hazards. Evacuations remain in place until officials confirm it is safe for residents and park visitors to return.
