Vivo Vision, the Chinese smartphone maker’s new mixed reality headset, was introduced in China at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025. The device looks strikingly similar to the Apple Vision Pro, which was announced in 2023 and went on sale last year. The prototype is set to be introduced in mid-2025 as part of the company’s Blue Technology Matrix, which will use AI technology for products with everyday applications.

Hu Baishan, Vivo’s Executive Vice President and COO, revealed the new mixed reality headgear at the ongoing Boao Forum. The wearable spatial computer’s design looks to be primarily inspired by the Apple Vision Pro, which costs $3,499 and is accessible in select markets.

An image of the Vivo Vision released by the company hints that the headset will look like a pair of ski goggles. The Vivo Vision’s visor, like Apple’s spatial computer, indicates the presence of several sensors that are expected to enable a variety of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) features. We can also see two sensors at the bottom of the frame that could be used to capture hand and finger gestures.

We also see a thick headband that is meant to keep the Vivo Vision in place when worn by a user, and it is similar to the one shown on the Apple Vision Pro. It is unknown whether Vivo’s headset will work alone or must be connected to a computer.

Vivo also announced the creation of a new robotics lab and teased the release of its next Vivo X200 Ultra handset during the Boao Forum. The executive stated that Vivo will use the “real-time spatial computing capabilities accumulated through [the] Vivo Vision” to construct the “brain” and “eyes” of robots.
