Netanyahu Nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize: ‘He’s Forging Peace’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Monday that he has officially nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, personally delivering a copy of the nomination letter during a dinner at the White House.

“He’s forging peace as we speak, in one country, in one region after the other,” Netanyahu stated.

“I want to present to you, Mr. President, the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize Committee. It nominates you for the Peace Prize, which is well deserved,” added Netanyahu, acknowledging Trump’s contributions to peace efforts.

Upon receiving the nomination letter, Trump expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you very much. This I didn’t know—wow, thank you very much. Coming from you… This is very meaningful.”

Netanyahu also commended Trump’s leadership, emphasizing its admiration among Israelis, the Jewish community, and many others around the world. “I want to express the appreciation and admiration—not only of all Israelis but of the Jewish people and many, many admirers around the world—for your leadership,” he remarked.

Trump Confirms Talks with Iran Following U.S. Strikes

During the dinner, Trump confirmed that the United States has agreed to Iran’s request for talks following recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. “We have scheduled Iran talks, and they want to,” Trump affirmed. “They want to talk.”

Steve Witkoff, Trump’s Middle East envoy who was present at the discussion, noted that the meeting could occur “soon, perhaps in a week.”

Commenting on the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Trump expressed a desire for peace, stating, “What’s happening between Russia and Ukraine is a horrible thing, and I’m not happy with President Putin at all. I’m stopping wars, and I hate to see people killed.”

He added that thousands of Russians and Ukrainians are dying each week in the escalating conflict, underscoring the urgent need for resolution.
