Mexican-Canadian influencer Denise Ivonne Jarvis Gongora, widely known online as Mary Magdalene, died on December 9 at age 33 after falling from the ninth floor of a high-rise apartment in Patong on Phuket Island, Thailand.
Local authorities told reporters that her body was discovered at 1:50 p.m. in the building’s parking area by apartment staff. Patong Police Captain Channarong Prakongkuea confirmed the discovery, and officials later verified her identity alongside family members, according to the Daily Mail.
Mary Magdalene gained a large online following, amassing more than 400,000 followers across her Instagram accounts. She was known for undergoing numerous extreme cosmetic procedures—ranging from nose jobs and brow lifts to buccal fat removal, veneers, breast and buttock implants, and extensive tattoo work. She also created adult content on OnlyFans and frequently showcased psychedelic artwork to her audience.
On December 8, just one day before her death, she posted a final message featuring screenshots from the closing scene of The Truman Show with the quote: “And in case I don’t see ya, good afternoon, good evening and good night,” paired with a blurry photo from her childhood.
She also changed one of her Instagram handles to MaryMagdaleneDied. Police say the circumstances surrounding her fall remain under investigation.

Gongora’s life story often drew public attention due to her openness about her past. Raised in a strict religious household, she described experiencing early struggles with substance use and sexual activity.
“Twelve, thirteen were the wildest years of my life,” she said on the No Jumper podcast. “I was doing lines of cocaine. I was going to school drunk in grade seven and eight.”
By age 17, she was working as a stripper and later as an escort. Her viral transformation through extreme plastic surgery became her online calling card, eventually leading her to transition full-time to OnlyFans.
“Because of OnlyFans, I was able to stop dancing and escorting, which was making me depressed, so now I’m blessed enough to just live off that,” she explained.
Her procedures included vaginoplasty, liposuction, cat-eye surgery, Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs), and even eyeball tattoos, many of which carried significant medical risk. Over the years, she suffered several complications, including infections, implant failures, and partial vision loss.

Her brother Ivan shared an emotional tribute online, writing: “You are so funny and so creative, way more than I’ll ever be. I love you much more than words will ever say. You are my world. I wish things were different. Thank you for everything. I love you, sis.”
Friends, fans, and notable figures—including rapper Kreayshawn, RuPaul’s Drag Race star Plane Jane, and influencer Eden the Doll—posted messages mourning her death and honoring her impact on online culture.
