Rumors claiming that YouTuber Charleston White had been shot in Texas spread rapidly across social media on Tuesday, but the claims have since been described as false.
The allegations circulated widely on platforms including X and Facebook, originating from the account @TommyGoBraazy, which claimed the 48-year-old was “in critical condition after being shot three times” in Texas. The post was quickly reshared, with some users falsely asserting that White had died.
How the Rumor Spread
The initial claim gained traction within hours, amplified by reposts and speculation. As the posts spread, several accounts escalated the narrative by reporting White’s alleged death, despite no confirmation from authorities or credible sources.
Claims Disputed by White’s Team
The reports were later disputed. Rapper Nikeboy Zeke shared a screenshot of a conversation with White’s friend and manager, who denied the claims outright.
“No, it’s not true. He hasn’t been in Texas in almost a week,” the manager said, adding that White was in Miami at the time the rumors circulated.
Recent Video Points to Miami
White’s own social media activity appeared to back up that account. In a video posted Tuesday morning, he indicated that he was in Miami. “Unc got a new condo in Miami. I’m living better than your favorite rapper,” he wrote in the caption.
What We Know So Far
Based on statements from people close to White and his recent posts, claims that Charleston White was shot or killed are unfounded. The episode appears to be another case of a false rumor spreading quickly online without verification.
