2025 Green Card Lottery Results: Check If You Won

The United States Department of State has officially released the results of the 2025 Diversity Visa (Green Card) Lottery. Applicants who submitted entries between October and November 2023 can now check their selection status online through the official Diversity Visa Program portal.

How to Check Your Green Card Lottery Results

The State Department has provided a clear process for applicants to verify their status. Follow these steps to check your Green Card lottery results:

Step 1: Visit the official website at www.dvprogram.state.gov.
Step 2: Enter the exact details used during registration, including:

  • Confirmation number
  • Last name
  • Year of birth (four digits)
  • Authentication code displayed on the page

Step 3: Click “Submit” to view your result.

The system will confirm whether you have been selected in the Green Card lottery.

What Happens If You Are Selected?

Winning the Green Card lottery does not automatically grant US residency. Instead, it provides the opportunity to begin the immigrant visa application process.

Selected applicants must:

  • Complete the DS-260 immigrant visa form online
  • Schedule an interview at a US embassy or consulate
  • Provide supporting documents for themselves and eligible family members

Applicants can check their 2025 lottery results from May 4, 2024, until September 30, 2025. All processing must be completed during the fiscal year 2025 (October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025). After this date, eligibility expires.

Lost Your Confirmation Number?

If you misplaced your confirmation number, the official DV Program website allows you to retrieve it by entering:

  • Application year
  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • Authentication code

Official Warning Against Scams

The US State Department has emphasized that results are only available through the official portal. Applicants will not receive email, text, or phone notifications. Additionally, there are no authorized agents or intermediaries for the process.

This safeguard ensures applicants avoid scams and fraudulent offers.
