Apple is expected to launch a new HomePod next year. Previous reports have suggested several key details of the alleged smart speaker. It is expected to have a large touch-supported screen supplied by China’s Tianma firm.

An earlier leak suggested this feature and a fresh report makes similar claims. Other details about the smart speaker have leaked online in recent months. The launch timeline of the third-gen HomePod has been hinted at earlier, too.

According to SE Daily, Apple’s third-generation HomePod would likely include a 6- to 7-inch OLED display. Tianma’s OLED panels will be used by the Cupertino-based tech giant. According to an earlier report, Tianma’s 7-inch panel would be used on the future HomePod model.

The prior leak stated that Tianma would most likely deliver display panels for Apple’s iPad devices in the coming years. Tianma is an electronic technology company known for producing displays for Android smartphones.

Previous reports stated that the upcoming HomePod speaker unit would be powered by an A18 chipset and support Apple Intelligence. It is expected to have a square display rather than the rectangle one commonly found in tablets.

The HomePod is expected to include a customizable lock screen with several clock faces. It may include an in-built camera to support video conferencing apps such as Facetime. The camera may be able to identify hand gestures, which may be used for controlling the smart speaker.

According to initial reports, Apple’s third-generation HomePod could be unveiled in the first half of 2025. According to a recent report, the speaker’s production may not begin until the third quarter of 2025. The company is reportedly still working on the smart speaker’s software, which is responsible for the delay. It may launch by the end of 2025.
