Apple Stores Gear Up for Vision Pro Launch in Early 2024

The Cupertino company’s expensive mixed-reality headset, Apple Vision Pro, was unveiled earlier this year at WWDC 2023. While the headset has suffered challenges and delays since its initial unveiling, the Cupertino, California-based company is now preparing for the headset’s retail launch.

According to reports, Apple is planning Vision Pro training classes for its retail associates in US stores before of the headset’s anticipated arrival in early 2024. Apple retail locations will almost certainly receive new equipment to assemble and package the Vision Pro in the near future.

According to Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter on Bloomberg, Apple is going all out for the Vision Pro debut. The AR/VR headset is a challenging and unique piece of equipment requiring personalized setup and changes for each user. To that aim, Apple Store personnel will receive extensive training not just on how to set up and use the high-end headset, but also on how to market it to a potential consumer.

According to Gurman’s newsletter, the company has begun booking Vision Pro training seminars for its retail personnel, with the sessions expected to begin in the middle of January. Each Apple Store employee will receive two days of training, which will cover precise procedures for the Vision Pro’s retail experience, such as how to place the device on a user’s head.

According to the reports, Apple stores in the United States will soon begin receiving the specialized equipment needed to assemble and package the Vision Pro, indicating that the headset will likely hit the shelves soon. While the device may be ordered online, Apple will most likely encourage customers to buy it in-store, where they can get extensive setup and operation instructions from a trained employee.

Gurman earlier reported that Apple would send representatives from each of its US retail locations to Cupertino, California, for Vision Pro training. Trained employees could then return to their individual Apple stores and train their colleagues.
