A 12-foot-tall statue depicting President Donald Trump holding hands with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein mysteriously appeared Tuesday on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
One of three plaques on the statue’s base reads:
“We celebrate the long-lasting bond between President Donald J. Trump and his ‘closest friend’ Jeffrey Epstein.”

The Secret Handshake Project Claims Responsibility
According to USA Today, the installation is the work of a group called The Secret Handshake Project, which claims responsibility for the surprise protest art. This marks the third anti-Trump piece to appear in the nation’s capital since June.
The group told USA Today: “We’re a very small group of citizens who are using art, irony, and humor to express social commentary and spark political conversation in public spaces.”
Public Reaction and Significance
The statue has drawn attention across media platforms for its controversial depiction of Trump and Epstein smiling together while holding hands. Observers note the piece is designed to provoke discussion about political figures and public influence.
This latest installation highlights the ongoing trend of protest art in Washington, DC, often using humor and irony to comment on high-profile political figures.
