Cloudflare DNS Outage: Multiple Websites Down on 1.1.1.1 Server

Web hosting service Cloudflare experienced a significant outage on Monday afternoon, impacting thousands of users, as reported by DownDetector. The company acknowledged a problem with its 1.1.1.1 public resolver, resulting in many websites hosted on its server being down. Cloudflare is currently working to resolve the issue.

Cloudflare’s Response

In an official statement, the company said:

“Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating, an issue which potentially impacts multiple users that use the 1.1.1.1 public resolver. Further detail will be provided as more information becomes available.”

User Reports and Impact

At the peak of the outage, DownDetector recorded 4,071 user reports, but the number has since decreased to the 400s as services began to normalize. Many users commented on the app, confirming that Cloudflare was back up and running.

The data showed that 98% of users reported problems specifically with the DNS, while 1% mentioned hosting issues. Some users indicated that the outage extended beyond Cloudflare, suggesting that Google and other hosting services also faced disruptions.
