A brush fire that started late Friday morning in San Diego’s Carmel Valley prompted a fast response from firefighters and first responders. The 4-acre blaze burned near the intersection of Caminito Vistana and Carmel Valley Road, spreading slowly and causing no threat to nearby structures.
Firefighting Efforts and Helicopter Support
“They’re making really good progress,” said SDFD Capt. Jason Shanley. He added, “Crews expect to be on scene probably another two hours. The helicopter has made one drop, but they’ve released the other county helicopter.”
Firefighters worked diligently to contain the flames, with ground crews mopping up hot spots by noon.
Impact of the Fire
The fire left a large burn scar across the grassy area, but thanks to rapid response, the blaze was nearly fully extinguished within a few hours. Residents and structures in the area were not threatened during the incident.
Safety and Updates
Authorities urge locals to remain aware of fire safety precautions, even when fires are contained. Quick reporting and cooperation with first responders were key in preventing further damage.
