How to Reinstall Chrome OS
In order to reinstall your Chromebook’s operating system all you need is a working computer. However, it is not restricted to Chrome OS and you can use any of the macOS, or Windows, or Chrome OS. Apart from that, you need a formatted USB flash drive or SD card with a minimum of 4 GB of space.
- Open the Google Chrome browser on a working computer. Now download and install the Chromebook Recovery Utility by selecting Add to Chrome in Chrome Web Store.
- Launch the program, provide your Chromebook’s model number, then follow the on-screen prompts to download Chrome OS to your removable media. Once complete, remove the USB drive or SD card. Remember, if it prompted you to grant your OS permission to make changes to your USB drive or SD card, select Yes or Allow.
