Apple Intelligence will soon support additional languages. CEO Tim Cook made the announcement during the company’s fiscal first-quarter 2025 earnings call. The Cupertino-based tech giant’s artificial intelligence (AI) feature set is currently only available in English, but the company intends to expand support to more languages starting in April.

During the quarterly earnings call, Cook announced: “We’re excited that Apple Intelligence will be available in even more languages this April.” The CEO also revealed the company’s revenue information, referring to the October-December 2024 period as “our best quarter ever”. Notably, Apple claimed revenue of $124.3 billion.

Apple’s first quarter of the current fiscal year was highlighted by the release of the iPhone 16 series, with Apple Intelligence becoming a key talking point. However, the AI features were not released until the iOS 18.1 update in December, and they still only support English (localized for Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK, and the US).

Cook addressed the issue, announcing that the company’s AI suite will support several new languages starting in April. These languages include Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese. According to Apple’s support page, new languages will be introduced, but no specifics are provided.

Apple Intelligence is now available on the iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 Pro models, iPad models with A17 Pro or M1 and newer, and Mac devices with M1 and newer. These features are only functional when the device is set to one of the supported languages and there is 7GB of available storage.
