A major police response unfolded Friday afternoon after an officer-involved shooting at the downtown Bellevue Transit Center on NE 6th Street, where a domestic violence incident escalated suddenly into violence. Witnesses said the dispute intensified within moments, triggering a direct confrontation between the suspect and responding officers.

According to early reports, several officers may have been shot or stabbed during the altercation. Police have not yet confirmed the exact number of injured personnel or details about how the confrontation unfolded.

Emergency Response and Scene Lockdown

Emergency medical crews arrived quickly and treated multiple wounded individuals as officers secured the area. The Bellevue Transit Center was immediately placed under tight restrictions, and authorities urged the public to avoid NE 6th Street while the investigation continued.

Initially, police did not confirm whether the suspect had been detained.

Suspect in Bellevue Shooting Taken to Hospital

Updated information later confirmed that the Bellevue shooting suspect is alive and has been transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. A police officer suffered injuries after being shot and stabbed, but is expected to recover.

One witness reported hearing an officer state he had been hit and was “bleeding from the head.” Audio from the chaotic scene, shared by individuals at the transit center, reflects the intensity of the moment.

Officials say there are no outstanding suspects, and one individual is in custody. The Bellevue Transit Center remains an active crime scene and is expected to remain shut down for several hours.
